Dea Ex Machina: A New Collaboration

This fall cycle, we have a very exciting update! htE is pleased to announce that we are working in partnership with Joyaux Marisol in a project called "Dea Ex Machina" for this upcoming cycle. Dea Ex Machina (goddess from the machine), will be an interactive public art installation at The Oculus, World Trade Center, launching Spring 2020.

Before our fall cycle, Joyaux Marisol had a workshop in Nairobi, Kenya with women who are survivors of gender-based violence in 2013. During this workshop, the women created prints that the Marisol umbrella is inspired from. So, you might be wondering, what is here there and EVERYwhere's role in this project? The purpose of our partnership is to give our participants the opportunity to make the "first generation" of Marisol umbrellas! So, most of our curriculum for this cycle will be based around the Dea Ex Machina project. We are very excited to be working with Joyaux Marisol for this cycle and we cannot wait to see the final art installation next March!
